Y’all I got it written. It’s wild and may not make sense. But literally, I took very few story telling liberties here. Outside of the fact that this is a visual dream and I don’t know the names of things or stop and describe stuff, this is basically what I remember. I had to fill in a couple gaps, but not much.

Wow can you have another dream that finishes this dream I need to know what happens to the Dean, the town and why were you in the room with the other people that were seeing things I am so intrigued right now. That is amazing that you remembered all of this detail and that you were able to keep a level head in your dream.

I don’t know that i’ve ever finished a dream. The only “recurring” dream I had was about 6 years apart and it was more like a “second chapter”.

I forgot to mention that I would have died in my dorm room if that random person hadn’t walked down the hallway and pulled the diseased person off the door. That was an intentional and conscious call in the dream because I couldn’t let that “me” die.

This was great! For me what I was getting out this dream it seemed like you may be stressed about a choice or decision that you need to make or have made in the past. I thought it was interesting the different perspectives that were transitioning between it seemed like you bounced around between perspectives which is cool

I think there were even more perspectives through the dream. I think I was the president guy for a bit. Also the blue rat dude? I’m not really sure what he was doing, but he was very chill even though he’s floating around in the flood.

Last night my dream was just tedious and it involved a lot of department store shopping (a strange combo of costco, micheals, and target). I couldn’t find anything I needed, I spent a lot of time picking something to buy, browsing around the store, deciding I didn’t want to buy it, and having to walk all the way back to where I found it. Over and over and over. I also got yelled at because I kept trying to climb the shelves to hang out with people in among the garden pots on the top shelf of the garden isle.

My dreams are rarely nightmares (though they might classify as nightmares to some). Usually I find chasing dreams, or whatever the heck dreams, more interesting, even if I’m terrified during the dream itself. Kind of like a horror movie that you can’t stop watching. In my memory, I have killed 3 people. I’ve died once. Fallen asleep and not woken back up once. Had to fake die twice. You know, they typical fare. _fascinating_ However, the other night, I had a dream that really left me off kilter when I woke up. I felt awful. I didn’t go back to sleep when my alarm went off because I didn’t want to keep dreaming.

I just wrote it out and decided it wasn’t that interesting. But the whole thing took place in a city that was dark (took place between the hours of 7-midnight, so things gradually grew dark), and it was storming and raining the whole time. The only bright things were the streetlights that reflected in puddles I had to run through. It was always quiet and colorless. Each time I was inside, it was always bright lighting and white walls with loud, happy people. Overwhelmingly bright and loud. I felt a sense of foreboding.

I had another ultra vivid dream last night, with a lot of things in it I could analyze, but I had a new dream experience. We were driving along a riverside road (it’s a road commonly in my dreams, this sort of national park or something in my dreamworld.) I heard a distinct beat in the distance, a song I recongized, as we neared it, it was a group of teenagers hanging out on a river beach jamming to “bad guy” by Billie Eillish. It got clearer and I very clearly remember the portion of lyrics I heard as we passed by. It was the chorus and I sang along with it. Then it faded as we drove past. It was _very_ real feeling. I’ve never clearly heard music in my dreams before!

Usually my college dreams are all at the same college (my dreams have specific locations that are reminiscent of real locations, but very fake, and each location is recurring.) but this last dream was at a new college I’d never been to. I think it was graduate college, which is why it differed. Most of the dream consisted of me panicking about getting to classes, staying organized, etc. The location itself was made up of lots of old Greek-style buildings. Columns and big marble stairs and lots of outdoor seating for classes. It was also ocean-side, and part of the college extended out onto a dock, with wooden walkways between buildings. I had a pretty full schedule, and I noticed that 2 of my classes overlapped times. I had a history course from 1-4, and a photography course from 3-5, so I had to pick which one to go to. On the first day, I left early/arrived late to the classes to experience them both. Both classes had _very_ eccentric professors. The history class was larger and lecture styled, but still discussion based. The professor was an overly excited guy with a big bushy beard, round glasses, and three different layers of non-matching shirts/sweaters. I couldn’t quite find the classroom at first (the building was something like Theopolamolopolis except it was written in Greek on the buildings so it didn’t match my schedule sheet), and he saw me looking lost and said “Hey I’m late for my class too! Are you in History?” I nodded and he lead me into the classroom. Discussion started and I realized I didn’t understand any of the content, and much of the upcoming projects were group based. The students in that class were very outgoing and outspoken, rattling off bizarre facts that I couldn’t begin to translate here. The class was 3 hours every day, with extensive work and research to be done outside of class. My heart raced the whole time, and, even though the professor was very nice and the content was fascinating, it was all so overwhelming. I snuck out the back of that class 30 minutes early, to go sit in on my photography class. This class was held outdoors in a courtyard, around a long bar table. There were about 10-12 seats around the table and one seat left open for me. I went and sat down and apologized for being late. The professor here was young, barely older than the students, and had a short, curly bob and a very round face. She told me it wasn’t a problem at all, and proceeded to fill me in on everything I missed in the first 30 minutes. I looked nervously around at the other few students (all more artsy/hipster looking than in my last class), worried they’d be upset that the professor was taking so much time to fill one student in on things they’d already heard. No one seemed to mind at all, everyone smiled and had quiet conversations with each other until I was on the same page. The professor began to outline the various projects we’d do through the semester, how we would structure photo critiques and what to expect on tests. Then we went around the table and talked about what we already knew about photography. After class was over, I walked out onto one of the dock walkways and watched a whale breech in the distance. I wondered if I could make both classes work with my schedule, or if I should drop one. I felt inclined to drop the history course, even though I might need it to graduate. I could put it off another semester. Someone jumped into the water next to me and paddled around. Another whale breeched, and the sun was setting. The Greek architecture glowed in the orange light. Students were milling about. Some sat outside a little cafe working on their laptops. I pulled my camera out of my backpack. I’d stick with the photography class. How could I fail that class, with all this beautiful photographic subject matter everywhere?

I forgot this channel existed. Jesse just reminded me. I had posted my last great dream in #bittercreek-babes .... Anyway, here's a new one: I had a dream where people all around me were talking about how the most dangerous book anyone could ever read just came out by Migos. I think it was about guns, because that was the context of the conversation beforehand. People kept suggesting that people all over were reading this book and it was causing uproars everywhere. I remember wanting to ask someone which of the Migos wrote the book, but then I woke up.... I guess it's safe to say that we can all be glad none of the Migos write books, because that would turn the world upside-down. People everywhere would be going crazy and pulling guns all the time.

Lauren Wilkins

Wed, May 8, 2019, 1:10 PM

Also - this is one of my absolute favorite comedies ever: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thin_Man_(film)

The Thin Man (film)

The Thin Man is a 1934 American pre-Code comedy-mystery film directed by W. S. Van Dyke and based on the novel of the same name by Dashiell Hammett. The film stars William Powell and Myrna Loy as Nick and Nora Charles, a leisure-class couple who enjoy copious drinking and flirtatious banter. Nick is a retired private detective who left his very successful career when he married Nora, a wealthy heiress accustomed to high society. Their wire-haired fox terrier Asta is played by canine actor Skippy. The film's screenplay was written by Albert Hackett and Frances Goodrich, a married couple. In 1934, the film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. The titular "Thin Man" is not Nick Charles, but the man Charles is initially hired to find – Clyde Wynant (part way through the film, Charles describes Wynant as a "thin man with white hair"). The "Thin Man" moniker was thought by many viewers to refer to Nick Charles and, after a time, it was used in the titles of sequels as if referring to Charles.

I don’t remember my dream from last night, but I started thinking about this one dream I had a few months ago: My family was on vacation in a foreign country (I don’t know which country, I just new it was foreign. something about the air and also the tourists). We decided it was dinner time and found ourselves a very american diner type restaurant (because that’s what you do in foreign countries). This restaurant also had a gift shop. I guess it was like hard rock cafe or whatever, but I’ve never been to a hard rock cafe, so I’m not sure why it existed. It was reminiscent of the prize section of boondock - lots of colorful cheap things, and definitely some lava lamps. My mom made me go in with her to buy an Ozzy Osborn T-shirt that was $100. She _made_ me. Like, I couldn’t leave unless I bought her that shirt. Luckily, the shop gave me a free Megadeath vinyl record to go with it (out of a set of four though, so I only got album 3 of 4.) We were finally able to leave the shop, and walk back to our hotel. Our hotel room conveniently had a record player, and the minute we stepped in, dad took my Megadeth album and put it on. It was very loud, but he seemed to enjoy it. And that was the dream I had where my parents revealed they were secret metal fans.

Last night I had a dream and it involved my cell phone! That's an extremely rare thing for me. Anyways, I was at one of my old houses in Illinois, and I think I was basically transported back to that time, because I felt as though I was that age and I distinctly knew that my brother was in the other bedroom next to mine. I was in my bedroom and I looked over at my open closet. The first time I looked, it was completely normal and full. But then I looked elsewhere and looked back, and this time the closet was completely empty, baring only the seamless pattern of wood behind it. Obviously I was distressed, so I just kept looking and blinking and even put my hand in front of one eye at a time until, all the sudden, parts of the closet started to appear in an instantaneous manner -- much like how you might describe a simulation spawning an object into a digitally simulated scene. It was pretty alarming. I thought briefly about how this could be a problem with my eyes not properly sensing reality and therefore preventing my consciousness from being aware of the contents in the closet. So I tried to take out my phone and take a picture of the closet. This is where it gets weird. (Every dream has that part.) I took my phone with it's camera on and tried to look at the closet that wasn't fully visible, but the phone was totally black. So I took a photo anyway to see what would happen. When I went to look back at that photo, it turned out to be a picture of my mother's face and it felt zoomed in. So I did that ole pinch and zoom out thing to see that it was a photo of my mother taking a mirror selfie in her bathroom. But as I continued to zoom out, the image brought me into her eye, instead of toward the camera on the cell phone she was holding, from there it brought me out of her eye in another photo of her, except I literally mean a photo of a framed photo of her. And as I kept zooming out, this process kinda kept repeating itself until there were photos of me (recognizable ones that I could distinctly point out from a scrapbook). Always coming from out of the eye. This was so weird and so cool, so I started to run downstairs to show my mom and figure out what was going on with me and my closet.... But I woke up before I made it downstairs.

I am in a little red car, driving my friend Jane around the city. I have plants in my car. I live in the city. Everything here is grey, and it’s raining. There are no colors except my car and the plants. The greyness deepens, it’s starting to get dark outside. It’s probably about 7pm. I pull over and park at a meter that I don’t need to pay at. It’s nowhere near my apartment, but my apartment doesn’t have parking. I live in a small shack on the roof of an old building. Jane is helping me move plants into my apartment, but she gets impatient while I try to gather all the plants in my arms. She takes one plant in each hand and walks off, disappearing into the distance. It takes me a long time to get everything picked up so I don’t have to make more than one trip. I start to run off down the street. Maybe I’ll catch up to Jame. It’s pouring rain by this point, and very dark. Streetlights are reflecting off the asphalt as I’m running. My shoes are soaking. Everything is so dark and quiet. I make it to my building. The apartment lobby is bright and well lit and colorful art lines the walls. Jane wasn’t in the lobby. Had she left after waiting for too long? The landlady was large and jovial and brightly dressed. She made casual conversation with me while I tried to open the door to the staircase to the roof. I pretended to be happy and interested in what she had to say, but the stupid door was hard to open with plants in my hands. Finally, I got in and walked up the flights that lead into my small home. Lights and color dimmed as I ascended. My apartment is small and ramshackle - the wind and rain make it’s way through cracks in the walls and windows. Everything here is grey, and my windows overlook the dark, gloomy city. A small fire is burning in a wood stove in the corner. The plants are still in my arms. Jane isn’t there, but someone is sitting at the table, a hooded figure.

My cats became average-sized, hyper dogs in my dream last night, colors corresponding correctly to their true cat selves. As I was pulling out of a drive way and turning right, a car also pulling out of the driveway smashed in to me _full_ speed, crunched in the back left side of my car, and I spun out. Earlier, this very lady who smashed into my car, had served me the full history behind the plates on which she fed me dinner. The plates, two of them red, two of them mauve, were made to serve specific types of food. “Moreover, they developed the mauve plates first, but after attempting to serve salmon fillets on them, they realized a red version was needed. Mauve was only good for carrot-based dishes.” So - back to the crash - she was not sorry at all, but rather grumpy because I “had not gotten out of the way in time”. I, on the other hand, was surprisingly calm, knowing that insurance isn’t actually that hard to deal with and that this would all be behind me eventually. Instead, I focused on containing my dogs, who wiggled happily and just wanted to party. They were not harmed in the wreck. Later in the dream, the dogs and I would go on a ten mile hike around a beautiful, scenic lake, which included a short ski course to navigate through on the far end, at about the 5 mile point. The dogs are excellent skiers, and I fly off jumps like a pro. After this hike, you find me lounging at my desk, feet propped up, on the phone with insurance, chit chatting about my car and life in general.
